Why do people walk away from the Lord?
The ones who leave have left us because they were never of us according to the writer of hebrews. They left the Lord because they didn’t know whom they owed their life and salvation to.
Paul, in his letter to the Thessalonians, : “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Thess. The word “believe” in this verse is used in the sense of “accept” or “assent.” It is not used as a verb, but as an adjective.
Greek word translated as “faith” is παρακτης, which is a noun meaning “trust.” Testament, the word is also used to mean “obedience,” “submission,” and “conformity” to God’s will. In this sense, Paul is ing that those who believe in Christ are obedient to His will, and that they submit to Him as their Lord and Savior.
