If the department finds that a person has violated any provision of this section, they can suspend or revocation the person‘s hunting or sport fishing license or permit privileges for a period of not more than one year. (c) A person who is convicted of or pleads guilty or nolo contendere to a violation of subsection (a) or (b), as the case may be, shall be punished by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000), or by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding six months, or both, and shall not be eligible to apply for reinstatement of his or her license, permit or privileges until he or she has paid the fine or imprisonment.
The court may order the suspension or revocation of a license under this subsection only if it finds, after a hearing, that there has been a substantial change in circumstances since the date of the conviction or plea, including, but not limited to, a change of residence, employment, income, financial status or other circumstances that indicate a need for the license to be suspended or revoked.
