The new law, signed by Governor Pat McCrory (R) on October 26, will take effect on January 1, 2022, and will allow North Carolinians to hunt, fish and trap with bows and arrows in any state park, forest preserve, wildlife management area, or other state-owned land. The law does not apply to state parks, forests, conservancies and other public lands managed by the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR).
