What is the meaning of Awrah?
The root ‘a-w-r’ means “defectiveness”, “imperfection”, “blemish” or “weakness” in arabic. Lack of faith is the most common translation in English. The term is also used to refer to a person who does not believe in God or the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
It is used in the Qur’an and the Sunnah (the ings and actions of the prophet Muhammad) to describe those who do not follow the teachings of Islam. It can also be used as a synonym for unbelief or apostasy.
Can I wipe my socks for wudu?
A person has to wear them over his/her feet while in a state of incontinence, and they have to cover the ankle bones. You cannot simply wear socks and wipe your feet with a cloth. Is Pictures haram in Islam?
The intention of the person who takes a photograph is to simply capture a moment in time, not to create a masterpiece, which is why most scholars don’t place them in the same category as those things that were forbidden during the prophet’s time.
