Never, never put a nylon tent in the washing machine!. The coating on the floor will be destroyed by the flexing and abrasion. The fly should be thoroughly rinsed with cold water and then dried with a soft cloth. Do not use detergents, as they will damage the surface of the rod. If you do not have a dry cloth, you can use a paper towel soaked in rubbing alcohol.
You can also use an old toothbrush, but be careful not to use too much alcohol as it will burn the bristles of your fly brush. Can you put a tent in a front loading washing machine?
