There is a 7 mile drive from Lookout Pass to the start of the Hiawatha. East of historic Wallace, Idaho, is Lookout Pass. The Lookout Pass Lodge and Bike Rental Shop will be open. The trail will be open from May 1st through October 31st. The trail begins at the trailhead parking area. There are two parking areas, one for cars and the other for bikes.

If you have a car, you can park in the parking lot on the east side of town and walk up the hill to the bike rental shop. You will need to pay a $5.00 fee to rent a bike. This fee is non-refundable and will be deducted from your refund if you do not return your bike within 30 days of your rental. Bikes are not available for rent on weekends or holidays.
