The firearms deer season in Northeastern Minnesota runs from Saturday, November 9 to Sunday, November 24. The shooting hours are a half-hour before sunrise and a half-hour after sunset.

Is deer hunting open in Minnesota?
Archery deer season opens September 18, and firearms deer season opens November 6. Hunting licenses can be purchased by telephone or online. According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, hunters can take more than one deer in almost half of the state’s counties.
When can you start hunting in MN?
14 – 17 years of age: Hunters who are 14 years of age or older are permitted to hunt unsupervised in Minnesota. They need to obtain hunter education certification and have an appropriate license for the game species they are hunting. Hunters must be at least 16 years old to purchase a rifle or shotgun, and 21 to possess a bow and arrow. The minimum age to obtain a hunting license is 18.
Hunters must have a valid Minnesota driver’s license or state-issued ID card with them at all times while hunting, unless they have an exemption from the age restriction. Minnesotans are required to register their firearms with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) at the time of purchase or transfer of a firearm. If you are under 18, you must register your firearm with your parent or legal guardian.
How many deer can you shoot in Minnesota 2021?
No matter how many two-deer limit areas they hunt, hunters can mix and match licenses and permits if they don’t exceed 2 deer per year. A one-year license is required for regular archery, firearm and muzzleloader hunters to tag one deer of either sex. Archery and firearm hunters must tag two deer with the same license, regardless of the total number of deer in the area.
Muzzleloaders are not allowed to tag more than three deer at any one time. Two-Deer Limit Area (red) Hunters are limited to a single deer per area per season. This area may not be used for any other purpose, such as hunting for food or trophies. The area must be at least 1,000 feet in length, and must have a minimum of two acres of grass and one acre of shrub or tree cover.
One-Year License (blue) This license is valid for one year from the date of purchase. It is good for the entire season and may be renewed for an additional year at the hunter’s discretion.
Can you hunt deer with an AR 15 in Minnesota?
223/5.56mm chambered AR-15 rifles are adequate and legal for Minnesota deer hunting, but a heavy-for-caliber and controlled expansion bullet (such as the Nosler Partition) is a must. It is legal in Minnesota to hunt with the.223 Remington. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) does not issue hunting licenses to the general public.

Can you bait deer in Minnesota?
Food is placed near deer stands or clearings in order to lure a deer into a shooting range. It has been illegal to bait deer for more than five years in the state of Wisconsin.
In addition, it is illegal for any person to hunt with a bow and arrow in Wisconsin without a valid hunting license. Violation of this law can result in a fine of up to $1,000 and/or six months in jail.
Can the DNR come on private property in MN?

Is it legal to shoot a dog chasing deer in MN?
In Minnesota you can legally shoot a dog if it’s chasing big game, but only between January 1 and July 14, and only if the discharge of firearms is allowed. The hunter admitted to killing the dog but said he thought it was a stray. The case is going to be reviewed by the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.
How long do you have to register a deer in Minnesota?
Register your deer within 24 hours of the close of the season during which you killed it. Before you process the deer, you need to register it. If you kill a deer that is not registered, you may be fined up to $1,000 and/or have your license suspended for a period of one year.
If you are convicted of a violation of this section, the court may order you to pay a fine of $2,500 or to serve a term of imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 30 days.
