Do you need a urinary catheter with a walking epidural?
If your labor is progressing too quickly, you may need a urinary catheter put into place, since the medication used in an epidural will numb the lower part of your body. If you are having a C-section, your baby will be delivered vaginally. If you have a vaginal birth, the baby is delivered by cesarean section.
What’s the difference between a standard epidural and a walking epidural?
The needle comes into contact with the fluid surrounding the spine with the walking epidural. The standard epidural does not interact with the spinal fluid and the needle stops just outside of it.
