I also recommend using a bit of sandpaper to smooth out any rough edges that may have been made by the drill. Now, glue the two pieces together using hot glue. Make sure the glue is completely dry before you put it on, otherwise it will stick to itself and you won’t be able to remove it later.

Can you use PVC pipe for tent poles?
There are tips to be had. If you want to make the tent more portable, you can cut the pipes in half. You can apply one side of the Velcro to the edge of the tarp and the other to the pipes. The tarp can be kept from unraveling with the use of commercial-grade Velcro.
