Agaves are grown in Mexico and are used to make alcohol. Tequilas are made with a blend of different types of tequillas. The most common blend is called the “Blue” blend, which is made by adding a combination of the following ingredients: 1/2 oz. of Blue Agaves per gallon of distilled spirits.
(This is the same amount as in a typical Mexican-style margarita.) .75 oz of Cointreau (or other sweetener of your choice) per 1/4 of a pint of spirits (for a total of 1.5 oz per pint).
