Women who did high-intensity intermittent exercise for 20 minutes three times a week for 15 weeks lost more body fat than women who didn’t do it.
The study, led by researchers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, found that the women’s body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) decreased by an average of 1.2 and 0.8 inches, respectively, after the exercise.
The women also lost a total of 2.5 pounds of fat, which is equivalent to about one-third of their body weight, according to the study.
