The agency said it had received more than 1,000 complaints from consumers who said their pork looked pink or discolored after being cooked at higher temperatures, and that it was working to address the issue.

Pork can also be cooked to medium-rare when cooked in a pressure cooker, but this is not recommended. Pressure cooking can cause the internal temperature of the pork to rise too high, resulting in overcooked meat.

The best way to cook a pork chop is to place it on a plate and cover it with foil, then place the lid on the cooker and turn the heat up to high. Once the pressure has been released, remove the foil and allow the chop to come to room temperature.
