When you are thirsty, plain milk or water (non-fizzy) are good and safe choices. Limit the amount of fruit juices that can be consumed. Don’t drink sodas and other soft drinks during the treatment period as they can lead to dehydration.
Eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, fish, poultry, eggs, dairy products, and low-fat dairy alternatives such as soy, almond, coconut, rice, quinoa, buckwheat, millet, amaranth, barley, oats, sunflower, flaxseeds, chia, hemp, sesame, walnuts, pecans, macadamia nut, pistachios, almonds, cashews, hazelnuts and macaroons.
Avoid refined sugars, white flour, breads, pastas, cakes, cookies, crackers, candy, ice cream, soda, tea, coffee, energy drinks, alcohol, caffeine and caffeine-containing foods.
