What should you not feed a duck?
Bread, popcorn, chocolate, onion, garlic, avocado or citrus fruit. A lot of bread is given to ducks, but excessive amounts are not good for them. Any bread or bread products should only be given as an occasional treat. Water should be kept at a constant temperature of around 20°C (68°F) and should not be allowed to become too hot or too cold.
Do not allow ducks to stand in water for more than a few minutes, as this can cause them to lose their balance and become disorientated. If ducks are kept in hot water, they can become dehydrated and may become ill, so it is best to keep them in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.
