How do trials strengthen our faith?

The testing of faith leads to deeper communion and greater trust in Christ, which in turn leads to a stable, godly, and righteous character. For the purpose of testing our faith and ability to trust Him, God allows trials in our lives. In this way, faith is a test of the believer’s faithfulness to Jesus Christ. It is not an end in itself.

Rather, it is the means by which we are tested to see whether or not we have truly accepted Jesus as our Savior and Redeemer. If we do not have faith in Jesus, we will not be able to accept Him as Lord and Savior. This is why Jesus said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

15) If a person does not keep His commandments, he will be rejected by God and will go to the lake of fire and brimstone, to be burned as an offering in the temple of God for all the sins he has ever committed.

In other words, if we fail to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength, He will reject us and condemn us to eternal separation from Him and from all that He has done for us in this life and the life to come.
