Do not take your medicine with dairy products. Milk, cheese, and yogurt are dairy foods that can stop your body from absorbing doxycycline. It is possible to have dairy products a few hours before or after your dose. If you’re in an upright position, it’s important to take doxycycline. Severe headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle aches and pains, or any other side effect that is not listed in the Medication Guide.
Do not stop taking this medicine without first talking to your doctor. Your symptoms may get better on their own and you may not need any further treatment. If you do need treatment, it will depend on how severe your symptoms are and the type of treatment you need. Talk to the doctor or pharmacist about the best treatment for you. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.

How long should you wait after taking doxycycline to eat?
The medicine should be taken on an empty stomach at least one hour before or two hours after meals. While sitting or standing, you should take this medicine with a full glass of water. Do not lay down immediately after taking this medication. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
This medicine passes into your breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Do not breast-feed while using this drug. It may cause birth defects or other serious side effects in a child. Talk to your healthcare provider about the best way to care for your baby while you take the medicine.
